Donald P. Jacobs
Donald P. Jacobs regularly prepares appellate briefs and has argued many times before the New Jersey Supreme Court, the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Ciruit. In the 2012 New Jersey Super Lawyers publication, Don is one of six lawyers listed in the "Appellate" practice area. Don was on the brief in Beck v. Prupis, 529 U.S. 494 (2000), a case defining the contours of conspiracy claims under the federal RICO statute.
Most recently, Don argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court in Yousef v. General Dynamics Corp., 205 N.J. 543 (2011), a case involving injuries sustained by New Jersey residents while traveling on business in South Africa. Don also recently briefed and argued Garrison v. Porch, 376 Fed.Appx. 274 (3d Cir. 2010), cert. denied, 131 S.Ct. 820 (2010), a case in which the Third Circuit reversed the entry of summary judgment in a §1983 excessive-force case.

§1983 Law
Don frequently represents parties in actions filed under 42 U.S.C. §1983. He has prepared and defended motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment in such matters, and has also briefed and argued §1983 matters in the appellate courts of New Jersey and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Internet and Marketing Law
Don writes terms and conditions for client websites, reviews Internet promotions in light of applicable law, writes sweepstakes and contest rules, drafts and negotiates contracts, and addresses privacy, trademark, copyright, customer service and other issues.
For clients in the direct mail industry, Don reviews promotions for compliance with applicable laws, responds to problems that arise with the United States Postal Service, Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general, and handles litigation. Besides selling merchandise, Don's clients have offered sweepstakes, telephone trivia games and puzzle contests.
General Litigation
Don handles litigation involving RICO, trademarks, discrimination, contracts, personal injury, and other issues. He is experienced in writing briefs at all stages of litigation and is frequently retained by other law firms to prepare motions and briefs on an of counsel basis.
